Advisory Board
A distinguishing attribute of Health Enterprise Partners is its Advisory Board, which is designed to provide advice to
the Managers on various matters from investment strategy to portfolio company management. The Advisory Board will include
representatives of the Fund’s Limited Partners and executives whose experience and demonstrated leadership within the
healthcare and healthcare finance industries will be of substantial utility to Health Enterprise Partners in virtually all
of its activities.
In addition, members of the Advisory Board may occasionally provide consulting and other services directly to companies
in which the Fund has invested or may serve as directors of portfolio companies. Advisory Board members are compensated
for their time and they or their employers are also invited to participate in the parallel fund, HEP Investment Partners,
L.P. Advisory Board members selected to date by Health Enterprise Partners are listed below.
Russell L. Carson
Mr. Carson is a co-founder of WCAS, one of the leading private equity firms in
the country and one of the most active firms in the healthcare sector. He has focused on WCAS’s healthcare investment
activities and is currently a director of several portfolio companies. Active in community affairs, Mr. Carson is a Trustee
of Dartmouth College, Chairman of The Rockefeller University Board of Trustees, Co-Chairman of the Board of Overseers of Columbia
Business School, a Trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a Director of the Partnership for New York City, a co-chairman
of the New York City Investment Fund, a Director of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation and Chairman of the Endowment
for Inner-City Education. Mr. Carson has been an advisor to CBHV since 1997 and has personally co-invested in two CBHV portfolio
companies.
John M. Miller
Mr. Miller has served as Vice President and Treasurer of Baylor Health Care System, a system of hospitals, primary care physician
centers and other healthcare clinics in Texas, since February 2001. Prior to joining Baylor in 2001, he served as Vice President
and Treasurer of Medstar Health, a network of hospitals and other healthcare services in the Baltimore, Maryland-Washington
D.C. region, from January 1992 through February 2001.
William F. Miller III
Mr. Miller serves as a Partner of Highlander Partners L.P., a private equity
firm. He is currently a director of HMS Holdings Corp., a healthcare information technology company, and served as CEO from
2000-2005. From 1983 through 1999, Mr. Miller served as President and Chief Operating Officer of EmCare Holdings, Inc., a
leading national healthcare services firm focused on the provision of emergency physician medical services. From 1980 through
1983, Mr. Miller served as Administrator/Chief Operating Officer of Vail Mountain Medical. Prior to 1980, Mr. Miller served
in various management positions as CFO, and CEO of various investor owned hospital facilities. Mr. Miller is currently also
a director of Lincare Holdings, Inc. and AMN Healthcare, Inc.
