Investment Strategy
The General Partners of Health Enterprise Partners believe the key to private equity investing is management, motivation,
domain expertise and “business building” know-how.
Following these principles, HEP will seek to:
- Provide value-added investing by focusing on a few industry niches, thus allowing the growth of experience and development
of relationships needed to succeed
- Invest with and continuously recruit proven managers
- Treat managers of our portfolio companies as partners
- Utilize industry relationships and strategic partners for proprietary deal flow and expert due diligence from the customer
perspective
- Cross-market portfolio companies’ solutions and products
- Accelerate revenue growth and exit strategy through access to health care industry decision makers
Value-added investing requires industry expertise. Given the enormous breadth of the $1.4 trillion healthcare industry,
HEP’s General Partners believe a specific sector focus is needed to succeed. HEP believes that healthcare
services, information technology and devices are highly attractive segments of the healthcare system and offer numerous opportunities
for investment from both a risk and reward standpoint. Payers, providers and users of the healthcare system will continue
to rely upon innovative technologies to improve patient safety, manage the strains of an aging population and relieve the
increased pressure to reel in the rapidly escalating costs of healthcare. HEP’s General Partners have
developed considerable expertise in these targeted segments of the industry and have made a number of successful investments
at all stages of development.
