Mr. Thurman
co-founded HEP in 2005 and has served as an advisor to CB Health Ventures and COO of Cain Brothers since 2001.
Mr. Thurman came to CBHV & Cain Brothers from Vanguard Health Systems, where he served as CFO of its Illinois
subsidiary, MacNeal Health Network. In this capacity, he was accountable for finance, business office, IT, medical records,
compliance and case management for the acute care operations, and full P&L responsibility for subsidiary operations, which
included a commercial reference laboratory, an independent practice association/third party administrator with 70,000 covered
lives, and a physician billing enterprise. He was previously VP Development with CurranCare LLC, a home healthcare management
company, following several years in healthcare management consulting with APM (which focused on health services) and IBM/The
Wilkerson Group (emphasis on devices, diagnostics and pharma).
Mr. Thurman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate
of Ohio State University
(1980) and earned an MBA at the Harvard Business School (1984).
